Wilting Roses & a Clay Mask

Having decided that I wanted to shoot something with many small intricate details, I was inspired by the dry state of a clay skin mask I used in my skin care routine. The dried face mask reminded me of Greek and Romans statues which used marble or limestone, resulting in their all white appearance. Conveniently there was a vase of wilting roses in my living room that provided the perfect contrast to an all white hand. I initially shot about a hundred and fifty photos with different lighting and angles, and ended with only 5.
